Celtic ritual knife. Phurba is a magical ritual dagger. What functions do ritual knives perform

From ancient times to this day, witches use a special magic knife to perform their mystical rituals.

Why do I need a ritual knife

Using a ritual knife, amulets and talismans are made, magic signs are cut out, special protective symbols are drawn in the air, they circle a protective ritual circle, expel corruption, concentrate energy and so on and so forth.

In short, the ritual knife is able to exert influence not only in the physical, visible world (for example, to cut a line), but also in the intangible, invisible world (leave an astral trace behind it).

How to bless a ritual knife

In order to sanctify a knife, you will need five candles, salt, water and incense.

"Creation" of the ritual knife is carried out as follows.

On a suitable lunar day, buy a knife with a wooden handle.

On a white tablecloth with black charcoal, draw a five-pointed star. On her rays, put five candles. Put a knife between them, turning it with a blade to the west. Light candles from the east clockwise. Say: “I appeal to you, the spirits of the elements and human passions, sanctify and bless this knife, in the name of a good cause. I appeal to you, angels of planets and stars, sanctify and bless this knife, in the name of a good cause. May all filth leave this knife. May these five candles become the crucible and fiery font of the Great Goddess. Oh Eternal Goddess, Mother of all things! Lord of the infinite universe! Praise and adoration to you! I ask you, cleanse this knife with your fire! May Thy Strength and Glory, Thy Power and Light, Thy Protection and Grace dwell on the edge of this blade. May it be so!"

Imagine a black fog coming out of a knife, personifying corruption and entering the energy of fire in the form of a scarlet glow. Perform this visualization five times.

Then put a vessel with salt in the center of the fiery pentagram and stick a knife into it, point down. Say: “O spirit of the earth, cleanse this knife from all filth and evil. Oh, the great ruler of the earth, You, whose name makes the arches of the world shudder, which directs the flows of seven metals through the stone veins, the Lord of the seven lights, rewarding the work of the miners, took pity on the sufferer and fulfill his request - fill this knife with your strength and power. May he become my reliable support in a good deed, just as the earth is a support for man! May it be so!"

Imagine a black fog coming out of a knife, and the energy of the earth enters into it in the form of golden light. Render five times.

Remove the knife from the salt, remove the vessel with salt and place a vessel with water in the center of the fiery pentagram. Put a knife in it, but so as not to soak the handle. Say: “Oh, the great spirit of water, the Lord of the water element, You who hide the waters of the underworld in earthly caves; King of the floods and spring floods; You who break the seals from the headwaters of rivers and fountains; we bow before you and we challenge you! Cleanse this knife from all filth and all evil. Fill this knife with your strength and power. May it become as purifying as your clear waters, oh great king of the water element, may it be filled with the same strength as your waves are breaking the seashore. May it be so!".

Imagine a black fog coming out of a knife, and the energy of water enters into it in the form of light of a blue hue.

Take out the knife and wipe it dry with a clean white cloth. Put incense in the center of the fire pentagram, light it and, holding the knife in your right hand, light it and say: “Oh, the mighty lord of the air, king of heaven and lord of air currents. Hear me, look at me and fulfill my request. I beg you, oh great lord. Cleanse this knife from all filth and evil. Fill him with your strength and power. May this dagger become as powerful as your winds! May force enter into this knife, as unlimited as your possessions, oh king of heaven! In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. From now on, forever and evermore. Amen. Amen. Amen".

Imagine a black fog coming out of a knife, and air energy entering into it in the form of a subtle translucent glow.

Now the ritual knife is ready. It should be wrapped in white or black cloth and hidden away from prying eyes. It is necessary to use this knife exclusively for magical actions, otherwise it will lose its strength.

If necessary, various magic signs or runes can be cut on the handle of a knife.

Who touched on my favorite topic of knives, I would like to more deeply study the use of weapons in the ritual part. I would be grateful for the information on this topic :)

PHURBA

Phurba is a magical ritual dagger traditionally associated with Lamaism, but also used in shamanism.
The handle is made in the form of a vajra - a symbol of thunder and lightning. In shamanism, phurbu can be associated with the axis of the world or with the World Tree.
The blade consists of three blades diverging from the axis of the dagger at an angle of 60 degrees and converging to one point on its tip (in shamanism it symbolizes three worlds connected together). The head of the hilt is crowned with the faces of the fierce Buddhist deity Vajrakilai: one face is joyful, the other is calm, the third is angry. At the very top of the hilt is a formidable deity with a horse's head - Tamdin.

During rituals, a knife is thrust vertically into the ground. It is believed that in this way phurba helps protect the believer and his mind from evil spirits.

This is a very strong and unique ritual attribute. Phurba attracts demonic powers, and the triple blade of a dagger destroys them. With the help of phurba, shamans treat diseases and “make” the weather. Phurba is used during meditation and concentration.

Silver Phurpa
Silver Phurpa with an angry Idam holding ritual objects in his hands.
Phurpa (phurba) is a trihedral ritual dagger that cuts off the three poisons of the mind and is widely used in Buddhist rituals.
Phurpa is sometimes called a magic dagger, which is a ritual tantric object that can defeat evil spirits and remove obstacles.
Phurpa is used for ritual purposes by tantra practitioners at the highest levels.
The phur component of phurpa is the Tibetan translation of the Sanskrit word kila, meaning peg or nail.
The origin of this name has a simple explanation. An object reminiscent of the ritual Phurpa was used to strengthen the ropes holding the tents. The nomadic lifestyle of Tibetans made this item indispensable and necessary in everyday life. And it was used by almost all layers from peasants and rural residents to noble people and high-ranking ministers.
The triple blade of Phurpa symbolizes the overcoming and cutting off of three main poisons: ignorance, passion and hatred, and also means control over three times: past, present, and future. The triangular shape represents the element of fire and symbolizes angry activity.
On the upper part of Phurpa, there is an image of a deity - Idam. Idams are speculative forms - peaceful or angry, of various forms, often with many hands, heads and eyes.
Idam meditation is carried out in accordance with a strictly elaborated ritual. A prerequisite for working with Idams is the adoption of bodhisattva vows - obligations to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all living beings, and at least a minimal understanding of the principle of voidness. To work with idam, it is necessary to receive from the llama the corresponding initiation (initiation), which includes the ritual and explanations of the practice.
Thus, the idams have nothing to do with the demons or angels protecting or opposing man in Christian, Jewish or Muslim traditions and mythologies. Rather, these are speculative forms, perceiving and identifying with which, a Buddhist can realize his Buddha nature. In other words, idam is the form by which the meditator can become a Buddha. Meditation associated with idam involves a complex transformation of consciousness to complete enlightenment.
This or that idam is chosen as a personal deity in accordance with the nature of the practitioner - his psychology, inclinations, character.

In the ritual with Phurpa, the practitioner first meditates, recites certain mantras, and then invites the deity to enter Phurpa. He visualizes that he scares and defeats evil spirits by focusing on the tip of Phurpa. In another case, the practitioner visualizes Phurpa throwing in order to destroy and conquer evil spirits. Success in such practices depends on the practitioner's spiritual strength, concentration and motivation, as well as karmic connections with the Phurpa deity and evil spirits.

With a black grip, this is the tool we use to draw magic circles and other shapes that many of the sent spells are associated with.

Buy a steel knife with a black handle; the blade should be about 15-20 cm long. When the moon is growing, make a decoction of Martian herbs on distilled water. Pour a few drops of blood into this broth.

The inscription on the knife

Make a knife peeling with water from your goblet and incense mixed with some of the above herbs burned in your censer; then heat the knife blade on the coals of the broiler until its temperature reaches its maximum. To do this, you must maintain a good temperature. When the blade is heated, immerse it in the broth you have prepared, while simultaneously evoking the image of a knife glowing with energy after each dive and humming the following words:

"Steel blade - I conjure you

Curse everything I call you

That is my word, so be it! ”

This tempering or tempering process, as it is commonly called, should be repeated three times. Having completed this, you must now magnetize the blade by rubbing it with a magnetic piece of iron or a strip magnet. Hold the knife in your left hand, and the magnet by the edge - in your right hand and, starting in the direction from the blade to the handle, move the end of the magnet along the entire length of the blade, at all points. Continue this for a good five minutes, rubbing each time in the same direction, humming the following words with each movement of the magnet:

"Steel blade, I conjure you to pull all the things I have indicated

Such is my word, so be it! ”

Another ritual knife

Take a new knife, the blade of which did not know the blood of a person or an animal, and at the time of Mercury depict the following signs on the knife. After that, at the same hour, you must consecrate the knife by placing it in the flame of fire so that it can be cleaned.

Faynzeh Dagger

Faynzeh, or Dagger, is used to kill victims and seize the insides. The blade should be made of copper, with three large notches, and the handle of human bone. The following symbols are applied to it with an iron tip:

Dagger bless spell:

"Ammalu Ate Elnan Slota Ningishzitaah Asatu Tcheatyohosn Avuasebo Ntsheg Lamashtu Krhe Al" ayn Rleeh "

The dagger is stored wrapped in a piece of tissue soaked in menstrual blood.

Bolin

Sickle (bolline); it must be forged on the day and hour of Jupiter from a bar of steel, hitherto unused. Put it into the fire three times and extinguish three times in the blood of the mole mixed with the juice of the Pimpernel plant (anagallis arvensis, full-time field color). This procedure is performed on the full moon. On the same day, but at the time of Jupiter, attach the horn handle to the blade, cutting it out with a new sword, three times hardened in fire as described above. When the tools are ready, read:

“I conjure you, O image of this instrument, by the power of God Almighty Father, with the help of Heaven and stars, with the help of Angels, elements, stones and herbs, as well as with the help of blizzards, thunder and winds, to gain all the strength to do those things in which we are interested, without deception, untruth or cunning, on the orders of God, the Creator of eternity and the Emperor of Angels. Amen"

Then seven repentant psalms should be pronounced over the instruments:

"Domine, Deus meus, in te speraui; Confitebor tibi, Domino, in toto corde meo: Quemadmodum desiderat cervus ad fontes aquaru, etc., at the end add the words: DAMAHII, LUMECH, GADAL, PANCIA, VELOAS, MEOROD, LAMIDOCH, BALDACH, ANERETHON, MITATRON, be the guardians of this instrument, because I will use it for necessary and important actions ”

Wrap the instrument with new red silk, fumigating it with fragrant vapors or sprinkling with fragrant water. Take care to complete the creation of the instrument on the day and at the hour of Venus.

Then, on the day of Venus, when the Moon is in Capricorn or Virgo (if such a connection is possible), you must make a knife and immerse it in the blood of the mole and the juice of the pimpernel plant. At this moment, the moon should shine most brightly; the action begins at the first hour of Venus and ends at the ninth hour of the same day. Attach the handle to the knife from a piece of light wood, cut off with a single stroke of a new sword or knife, and the following signs are engraved on this handle:

With this knife, fused with incense, they carry out all the actions necessary for Magical Practice, except for drawing a circle. But if it is difficult to make such a knife, then give the same shape to the finished blade; immerse it in blood with juice, as mentioned above; attach the handle of the light tree with the signs printed on it; on the blade, from the tip to the handle, write with a goose (from the male) with the pen words: Ahararat, to. Sprinkle the knife: with purified water and wrap it in silk.

A knife with a black handle is designed to describe a circle with it and scare away spirits, as well as to perform other similar actions. On the day and hour of Saturn, when the Moon will be in Capricorn or Virgo (if such a connection is possible), you must make a knife and immerse it in the blood of the mole and the juice of the hemlock plant, the handle should be made of a sheep’s horn. Smoke with incense, peel with blessed water and wrap with silk.

The dagger (stylet) and lancet must be made in the same way at the day and at the hour of Mercury - from steel extinguished in the blood of the mole and the juice of the grass of Mercury. The handles of these tools are made in the day and hour of Mercury; they are cut with a new sword from the horn and the following signs are applied:

Light these tools as before and store them in the proper place.

“I conjure you, the image of this instrument, N, by God Almighty Father; with the help of heaven and all the stars that rule; with the help of the four elements, all stones, all plants and all animals, whatever they may be; with the help of showers and winds; gain such strength now that with your help we can achieve the fulfillment of all our desires, which we strive to fulfill without malice and without deceit, in the name of the Lord, the Creator of the Sun and Angels. Amen".

BLACK MAGIC TOOLS
From the Grimoire called True Black Magic
  Sign I - a knife with a white handle.

  1. Knife with a white handle
  2. Black handle knife
  3. Arctrave or hook
  4. Bolin (bouline) or sickle
  5. Stylet
  6. Lancet
  7. Master Sword
  8. 12. 13. Swords of assistants.

Cooking tool

Since a cutter cannot be dispensed with in the manufacture of some tools necessary for magic operations, it must be prepared first and as follows: on Tuesday or Friday, you must order or buy a steel cutter on which to cut or make someone cut (in his presence and subject to the rules of time and others, which applies to the preparation of all instruments where outside help is allowed. (Note transl.) in the days and hours of the same planets (Mars or Venus). (Fig. 6).

Then make a box handle, the drawing of which is shown above, after which you need to wash it and fumigate with juniper, and then say the following prayer:

“Father, eternal God, bless this instrument made in honor of you; may it serve in Your glory for all that is good and saving. Amen".

“Asophiel, Asophiel, Asophiel, Pentagrammaton, Athanatos, Eye, Eye, Eye, Kellon, Kelloi, Kelli.”

After lighting it, hide for future use.

Cooking dagger

Since it is impossible to do without a dagger during operations, you will prepare it for yourself from the best steel with the same handle that you will wash, as you did with the sword and the wiper, stick it into the pedestal from the axle box, and then say a prayer: "Agla. He. Pentagram ... "as for a sword. Then you need to engrave it yourself or give it to cut out the following words and signatures.

When this image is made, you will light it with incense and say the following prayer:

“Hel, ya, ya, ya, Adonay, Cados, Cados, Aborel, Elhoim, Agla, Agiel, Asel, Sadon, Esul, Eloha, Elhoim, Yehy, Del, Agios, Agios, Agios, Barael, Barael, Barael."

Lord Almighty God! who made everything out of nothing, without despising His servant (Name), who turns to You with a humble prayer, that You bless, cleanse, and sanctify this dagger so that it becomes worthy to perform operations. Command your holy angels to be present in this matter. Oh Lord Almighty! Remember about my father, to whom you granted the knowledge of all things. Make this dagger clear by the power of his teachings and be pleasant to You by your holy name Tetragrammaton. ”

After which you cut or give to cut the following image at a certain hour: (Fig 4);

Having cut it out, you need to fumigate with incense, saying the same prayer: "Hel, yah, yah ...", then wrap it in a piece of red taffeta and brand new until the time it is needed.

Making a ritual penknife

Under the influence of Mars, you need to buy a new penknife with several blades and a white handle. One blade should be large and used to cut grass and knots on known days; one or two smaller ones - for sharpening pencils, cutting parchment, leather and paper; thus, one knife will replace several of the tools indicated in the rituals. The material of the pen is indifferent, if only it were new.

Having washed and dried it well, put it on a table covered with a white tablecloth, sprinkle it, smoke it and say with great attention the following prayer:

Agiel, Asiel, Sadon, Paliel, Alma, Mammiel, Dilaton, Kaday, Catilua, Wanzoral, Zaiphi, Carsali, Faffua, Hictimi, On, Agla., Agios, Agios, Hamamon, Yoth, Luphat, Miel, Ciel, Miel, Ciel , Miel, Deus Moyses, Deus, Israel.

“God of Moses! God of Israel! Great God! Do not forget your servant (name) and bless the instrument prepared in honor of Your power, which You revealed to my father and, through all the angels. You have revealed to him the names and Your almighty name Tetragrammaton. ”

After that, you engrave yourself or give to engrave the letters and names of the saints on one side, and the seal on the other (Fig. 5).

Then, having fumigated and blessed, you will say the above prayer. Then you need to wrap it in a silk flap of various colors and hide before use.

The most amazing and characteristic example of ritual knives is the Tibetan dagger "Phur-bu" (or sometimes the name Phurba is found in the Russian version) (from the Tibetan - Phurbu; Kila - Sanskrit). The name “phuru” itself is a Tibetan translation from Sanskrit of the word “Kila”, which means a nail. Other examples of magical weapons are, for example, Aztec stone daggers and the stranglehold of Indian strangler tags (“rumal”).

With the development of civilization, a gradual division of weapons into several categories occurred, among which a special place was occupied by the category of ritual weapons.

Tibet is a mysterious country located in the heart of the Himalayas, literally the highest in the world. People here live at an altitude of 3-4 thousand meters above sea level, and mountain peaks reach an altitude of 7-8 km. Tibetans say mountains encircle Tibet like a precious necklace.

Tibetans since ancient times were considered strong and brave warriors. In the VII century. they brought a lot of trouble to neighboring China. The Tibetan proverb says: "The shepherd of my enemy will serve as the sheath of my sword." Of course, evil must be confronted not only with prayers, but also with weapons in hand. What weapons can withstand the onslaught of supernatural magical creatures without flesh? This fact became decisive when creating a kind of dagger - "Phur-boo". The blade with three blades was cast from cast iron, copper, brass, or made of wood. FROM it was read that the power of this weapon lies in the very essence of its existence, its hidden power.

In the pantheon of Lamaism (the Tibetan branch of Buddhism) there are statues of the deity Dharmapala. They are defenders of faith from evil demons and forces hostile to man. Their faces are frightening, in many hands - weapons. Indeed, in order to defeat and put evil to flight, one must frighten him. This explains why the guardian deities look so intimidating. One of these deities is Mahakala, with a head having three angry faces, located at the top of the arms of the Phurbu.

On each of the three blades of particularly strong daggers (along the midline) were depicted a snake - kundalini - a symbol of spiritual energy. “In this world, and in another world, everything is subject to kundalini,” the esoteric texts of the Ancient East say.

The three faces of the dagger (in fact they are blades connected by one of the edges in the center of the phurba axis at an angle of 60 degrees) symbolize control over three dimensions of time - future, present and past; in addition, these faces can denote three worlds (upper, that is, divine; lower or the world of spirits and demons; middle - the world of people), which are connected together. There are also other interpretations of the trihedral phur-bu.

It is believed that the larger the dagger, the more magical power it possesses. Ritual daggers were also used during the mysteries when laying ritual Buddhist structures - stupas and monasteries, in rituals of purification. During the Mysteries, stabbing blows were made to the cardinal points in accordance with the ritual prescribed by centuries for the expulsion of demons from this place.

The “classic” phur-bu is a trihedral dagger with a short blade and a massive, richly decorated handle. It is mainly made of noble metals (silver or gold), often the handle of a dagger is decorated with precious stones. Phurbas made of iron, bronze, or even wood are also quite typical, and bone phurbs are also found.

The dagger was usually used during meditations of a special kind, in which the divine power was accumulated in the dagger itself. Ritual stitching was also practiced in bowls with salt or rice (“sticking” a dagger in the manner of a peg), in order to protect faith and mind from the influence of evil spirits.

Phur-boo is a classic version of the ritual dagger. However, there are other, modified daggers. At the top of some of them, the three-faced head of Mahakal is missing. The dagger handle with a trihedral blade can be crowned with the horse head of the fierce guard Tibetan deity Hai-jagriva. Phur-Bu is also decorated with “knots” of immortality, with the head of a makara - monsters with the body of a crocodile - and intertwined snakes. There are also handles with a topping in the form of a winged leopard. The blades of such daggers are not divided into three blades - they are trihedral. The image of kundalini snakes is not present on all blades.

At present, small souvenir Phur-bu, cast in cast iron, are distinguished by poor-quality machining of the handle parts and a roughly made blade. Such daggers are not designed to fight demons, but tourists are willingly buying them as souvenirs. There are also castings from aluminum tinted in black, but they are unlikely to be made in Tibet, most likely they are fakes, possibly from China.

Such daggers are considered a powerful amulet against negative energy, they are used in feng shui. Of course, the phurba did not lose its significance as a religious and religious object used in various rituals of Lamaism.

Purba symbolizes the destruction of all concepts and attachment to one's self, as well as ideas about the reality of the illusory world. In some special rituals of Tantric Buddhism, purba is used as a weapon to subjugate forces opposing teaching. With the help of the purba, the practicing yogi literally nails their symbolic images to the ground.

Knife  - the oldest tool of mankind, the creation of which our ancestors had to really think about. The knife, perhaps, arose before all religions - for you first need to get a mammoth, and then you can give the most delicious part of the trunk to the gods. And therefore, in addition to its direct purpose, the knife also carries in itself a certain sacred meaning. The knife was used for ritual purposes - as a tool for sacrifices, the knife stood out and is today the subject of worship in many religious rites.

All reviewed below ritual knives  and the tools were created by degenerates of the human race with obvious deviations in the psyche, pursuing their goal of personal financial enrichment and power over the distraught crowd.

  1. Tumi knife  (Tumi). The ritual knife of the Ancient Incas. XI-XVI centuries. Used during sacrifices. Tumi's knife was made by casting of gold, bronze and silver alloys. Decorated with precious stones. Represents the figure of the Indian deity Naimlap, standing on a semicircular blade. A blade of this form carries a solar-lunar semantic load. The size of this sacrificial knife is usually in the range of 30 to 40 cm. Considering the size of Tumi, the shape of the blade and the material from which this tool is made, the conclusion suggests that the Inca priests extracted their internal organs in a still trembling body - to quickly chop or chop off the head this knife is complicated. It is currently a symbol of Peru.
  2. Itzli - Aztec ritual knife. XIV-XVI centuries. Used for human sacrifice to the pagan gods of the Aztecs. These knives were made of obsidian (volcanic glass), which made it possible to obtain a very hard and sharp cutting edge with a natural microserrator. Ideal for various surgical interventions and excising internal organs for the amusement of the crowd.

  3. Phurbu  (Kila, Phurpa, Phurba, phurba) - Tibetan ritual trihedral dagger. VII century - present Religion is Lamaism. Phurbu is translated from Tibetan as "nail." It is used to expel evil spirits from the body by the method of stabbing both the shadows of spirits, bowls with sacred rice, and the "patient" himself. The handle is made in the form of the three-faced deity of Mahakal. The three facets of the blade are a symbol of the past, present and future. The figure of a snake on a blade symbolizes the energy of kundalini, so revered in Tibet.

  4. Mid moss  (Meed-Moh) - A sacred knife of Buddhists in Thailand. VI century BC - present Saves from all evil that exists. The handle is made of ivory, any metal is on the blade with the obligatory inclusion of real sacred nails from pagodas.

  5. Kusungobu  (kusun-gobu). Japanese ritual knife for seppuku (hara-kiri). 1156 - p.t. It was used by valorous and loyal samurai to their emperor to preserve honor in any slippery situations. Aerobatics in conducting hara-kiri was tearing up the abdomen with two cuts - horizontal and vertical. Since death did not occur immediately, but after a few hours, to alleviate the suffering, it was allowed to involve his friends in this procedure - the samurai was sitting with his belly open on his knees, and as soon as his body began to heel from this position, he was close in arms to this moment chopped off the head with a sword. Also for hara-kiri there was a “light” option - when the belly was not opened by the kusungobu, and the samurai touched himself with a fan and his head was chopped off at that moment.

  6. And there  (atame, atham, athame) - a ritual dagger of all kinds of "witches" and other Harry Potters. ?? - present Performs the functions of a "magic wand" in mysterious spells and obscure rites. The main requirement of knowledgeable people for the atam is the black hilt. Freely sold on the Internet, but not in our knife store.

  7. Bolin  (boline) - a popular product in stores selling various isothermal devices. ?? - present It resembles a sickle in shape - apparently for mowing some kind of specially needed grass. The presence of a white pen is required. To increase profits, it is bundled with an atam.

  8. Celtic ritual knife. Used as a knife for sacrifices before the outbreak of hostilities. Forged knife, ram head on the handle. A kind of symbol of the Celtic warfare. And the Celts knew well not only in blacksmithing, but also in hostilities. If the weather allowed, then they went into battle without clothes, covering the body with blue paint and hair with white lime. Once, even Julius Caesar was frightened by their appearance. The heads of the defeated enemies were cut off and brought home for collection. For safety, these trophies were kept in containers with cedar oil, and then nailed to the walls of their houses.

  9. Khalaf  - a knife for shechita, used by Jews for the ritual kosher slaughter of animals. To use this knife, you need a special technique that Jewish butchers learn for four years. The meaning of the Jewish slaughter is that the animal does not slaughter (on the halaf, contrary to common sense, there is no point, although all hunting weapons from time immemorial had a sharp tip for quick and fatal defeat), but they are cut in a certain cunning way along the longest line. The purpose of this incision is a large loss of blood to animals, while his heart is still beating. Many animal welfare organizations are demanding that bans be prohibited due to the torment of artiodactyls.

  10. Spear  - A double-edged knife used by Orthodox priests to cut prosfor - special buns during worship. It symbolizes the spear, which, according to Christian legend, was pierced by Jesus hanging on the cross.

  11. A knife, razors, chains used by Shiites for self-flagellation during the holiday of Ashura. Thus, they recall one of their imams, part-time grandson of Muhammad. The color of blood is the color of life.

  12. Inhabitants of equatorial Africa in order to protect from evil spirits use a special ritual knife  - cut them on their bodies and rub the earth there. The resulting scars according to their beliefs are the strongest protection against illnesses and life failures.

  13. Well, lock that damn dozen Cutting knife. Used by God's chosen people and Muslims. The Jews adopted this custom from the Egyptians. As a rule, this knife is uncovered on the eighth day after the birth of the baby. The meaning of this sacrament is the elimination of certain physical deviations. They are trying to explain this in their holy books as a way of connecting with their gods.

In conclusion, I would like to draw attention to no less interesting from the point of view of sacred meaning, ritual behavior and more tangible and familiar to us "civilian" knives -
