Americans are angry because of the Crimea. Why did the Americans Crimea or what Ukraine managed to avoid. Do Americans Need Crimea

There is nothing more useful for a proper understanding of oneself than an external view. How Crimea was covered in world media, what was put in the headlines, and what did not receive due attention, is in the traditional review of Crimea.Realities.

“A reboot with Russia is theoretically possible. A word for Moscow, says General Pavel, "the head of the NATO Military Committee quotes Peter Pavel portal of the official representation of NATO in the Czech Republic Natoaktual:

- After the Russian annexation of Crimea, the Alliance is trying to gradually adapt to changes in the security sphere. He will build two new headquarters. How will the new model be better?

- We came to the conclusion that in recent years there has been a significant change in the situation in the field of international security. And, of course, this led to the fact that we reviewed most of our actions and structures and, among other things, the command.

- Can NATO relations with Russia return to the level preceding the annexation of Crimea?

- In theory, yes, but the answer is already contained in the question - that is, everything mainly depends on Russia. The Alliance did not change the approach to security policy by occupying part of a sovereign state and for the first time changing its borders by force after the Second World War. The Alliance has a willingness to dialogue at both the political and military levels, but it needs both sides. The Alliance not only voiced, but also took a number of measures in practice to continue the dialogue with Russia. Since 2014, six meetings have been held at the Russia-NATO Council level, three of them last October. There was a telephone connection at the military level, and there was a real meeting, and we continue the dialogue. If with this pragmatic approach we will negotiate with Russians at all levels, then, first of all, we will show Russia that we have not come to terms with its actions, which we consider to be wrong, but at the same time we will demonstrate a constructive approach to discuss some issues.

“How people in Crimea look at an alliance with Russia,” says an American radio station National public radio . “A ferry filled with evening passengers leaves the pier in Sevastopol. This city on the southern coast of Crimea for two centuries was the base for the Russian Black Sea Fleet. It is from here that the president of Russia Vladimir Putinbegan the occupation of Crimea and led a hastily organized separatist referendum, which few countries today recognize. After the pro-European revolution in the capital of Ukraine, in Kiev, many of the 2.3 million residents of Crimea decided that it was better to live in Russia. After the annexation, Ukraine stopped supplying its goods, and the peninsula became dependent on ferry supplies from Russia. Prices doubled, tourists stopped coming, and many people are still trying to make ends meet. Outdoor speaker near office Sergey Aksenov advertises a market selling goods from Russia, Belarus, Turkey and Poland. Although prices have stabilized, Crimeans complain that they pay more than residents of Russia. They hope that the new bridge to mainland Russia, opened this year, will help increase the flow of goods and tourists. Even critics of the annexation admit that Putin's multi-billion dollar investments have improved roads, schools and hospitals. But Nariman Jellal says that Crimeans lost the basic political freedoms that they enjoyed in Ukraine. Dzhelal is a representative of the Crimean Tatars, an ethnic minority who was expelled from Crimea by the Soviet government and returned to the homeland of their ancestors only when Ukraine gained independence. Many Crimean Tatars remain loyal to Ukraine, and some of them have faced persecution because of this. The new political climate means that thousands of Crimeans had to flee. Exiles are not only Crimean Tatars, but also ethnic Russians, such as a human rights activist Olga Skripnikwho now lives in Kiev. "

“Sobchak was blacklisted in Ukraine after an announced visit to Crimea,” the newspaper writes The Moscow Times . “Candidate for President of Russia Ksenia Sobchak was added to the unofficial Ukrainian black list after announcing her plans to visit Crimea as part of her election campaign. Shortly after being nominated for president (Russia - Kyrgyzstan) in the March 18 elections, Sobchak made a statement: “According to international law, Crimea is Ukrainian. Point". In an interview with Ekho Moskvy radio, Sobchak said she sent a request to the Government of Ukraine to visit Crimea. The next day, her profile appeared on the Facebook page of the Mirotvorets center, a Kiev-based site that identifies people who “pose a threat to Ukraine’s national security.” “You cannot violate Ukrainian state borders,” they began their Facebook post, adding that Sobchak was included in the list of “mercenaries, terrorists and their accomplices and Russian war criminals.” On Wednesday, the headquarters of Sobchak said that the site will not deter Sobchak from visiting the Crimea if she receives permission from the Ukrainian government, the RBC business portal reports. “If I go to Crimea, it will be through the territory of Ukraine,” she told Ekho Moskvy on Tuesday. "I think that is right."

“Of course, there was such a threat. I think that Putin, among other things, took such a drastic step as the annexation of Crimea. Indeed, there was a threat that Crimea would not even go to Ukraine, but under US control. Well, it was obvious: right after the suppression of "Crimea will drive our fleet out of there," said Mikhail Alexandrov, a leading expert at the center for military-political research.

"Then Russia would lose serious naval positions on the Black Sea. In fact, the United States would have thrown it by the beginning of the 18th century in terms of sea power, and that was unacceptable," the expert is sure. He stressed that "in Ukraine, with the support of the United States and the EU, the radicals launched a coup."

Mikhail Alexandrov recalled that at present, "we are still able to control a significant part of the Black Sea. Previously, when Crimea was Ukraine, we had a limited base that we would lose and remain in Novorossiysk alone."

In the summer of 2015, the commander of the Ukrainian Navy announced in an interview with the departmental magazine People’s Army that Odessa would become a NATO port, which would include ships of the anti-Russian alliance. According to the plans of the West, in principle, the “rebellious” Crimea should become such a port of NATO.

“By the end of 2014, the peninsula was supposed to become the central base of NATO in the region, or, as the Americans themselves say, a stationary unsinkable aircraft carrier at the Russian fence. In Crimea, repair work on objects selected to house military personnel, headquarters, and warehouses began secretly last year. and other NATO infrastructure, "said the media during the reunification of Crimea with Russia, reserve colonel and head of the center for the study of public applied problems, Alexander Zhilin.

"In order to neutralize the patriotic sentiments of Sevastopol and other residents of the peninsula, the Yankees prepared for Crimea a repetition of the fate of Kosovo. According to their plan, they should play the role of Kosovo Albanians, declare sovereignty and cleanse Crimea of Russian patriots. Putin’s operation to ensure stability on the peninsula, from making a referendum prior to the meeting, it’s unique and unprecedented in many respects, "added Grigory Vanin, retired colonel of the General Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Federation.

It is worth noting that the Americans began to create infrastructure for the Navy even before the Maidan in Kiev. One of the Sevastopol schools was to be reconstructed under the engineering base of the US Navy. Recall that the Federal Business Opportunity public procurement resource page still has an announcement about this tender. In the attached document, the Americans painted in detail the reconstruction of the building and attached schemes, plans, maps. Do not even forget about the toilets with signs in English and Ukrainian.

Typically, a board with the inscription was supposed to be there: "The reconstruction of the school was made possible thanks to donations from the US people to residents of Sevastopol with the support of the military cooperation department and the US embassy in Ukraine."

As Dmitry Sablin, member of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security recalls, “the Americans really prepared very seriously and thoroughly for entering Crimea. A year before the events on the Maidan in Kiev, they made an estimate for the repair of a number of buildings in Sevastopol and Simferopol, where they planned to place headquarters and reconnaissance units The military airfields and garrisons, which then belonged to Ukraine, they regarded as their military installations and even sent instructions for their conversion to NATO standards. US military in April 2014 was listed as the start time of settlement in Crimea. It seemed to them that the issue has been resolved. "

Western experts spoke about these American plans (and more than once). And if we take into account the fact that the contract with Ukraine on leasing the Sevastopol fleet as a naval base by the Russian fleet expired in 2017, the United States would have gained complete dominance in the Black Sea. From the territory of Crimea, airspace is easily shot through to Voronezh and Moscow, and if necessary to Ankara.

Only these plans were not destined to come true.

On September 5, 2013, an advertisement was posted on the US government procurement site to find a contractor for the reconstruction of school No. 5 of Sevastopol.

On 124 pages of the specification in detail, with diagrams and photographs, it is written what exactly needs to be done. For example, redo the roof. Replace windows. Hang doors on toilets. Etc. With the inherent scrupulousness of all customers.

Declared value - from 250 to 500 thousand dollars.

The first thought that comes to mind: the good American friends of the Ukrainians, walking last summer around Sevastopol, accidentally stumbled upon school number 5 and looked inside. Frightened by desolation and decided to update it. After all, they often walk around foreign cities and take a closer look: what else would help the natives. There the school will be repaired, here - the hospital will be refurbished, somewhere - the museum will be restored or the church. Of course, at the expense of our own budget - that is, for the money of American taxpayers. As in this case. There are many countries, cities in them - even more. So because of their altruism, the United States reached the economic crisis.

But the second thought, admittedly, was more mundane. It is unlikely, I think, accidentally stumbled. Most likely, they were specifically looking for. For some secret purpose. Because you can spend half a lemon on a Ukrainian school only if your children, American, will study in it. Accustomed to American standards. To prevent the roof from leaking, for example. Or to close the windows more tightly. And the aborigines in the updated school-beauty should not be at all. Otherwise, taxpayers will not understand.

And this thought involuntarily led me to the jungle of conspiracy theories.

Why did the Americans last year begin to settle down in the Crimea, as at home - did they really want to place theirs in Sevastopol instead of the base of the Black Sea Fleet? I took a closer look at the announcement - and for sure: a tender was posted by the US Navy Engineering Command. Which is, I note, in the American city of Naples (Contracting Office Address: Naples, United States). So the truth is - they wanted to. And they even started preparing a good school for officers' children.

Is it any wonder that Barack Obama was offended by Vladimir Putin with his polite people? So it's not fair. I didn’t spend a single cookie, but simply took and took the Crimea from the United States. Well, in the sense of Ukraine. Although everyone knows that only one superpower can violate the territorial integrity of countries. Exclusively with advanced democratic goals.

The last change in the state order announcement was made a week ago: due to the changed situation, the tender is canceled. In other words, the Americans finally resigned to the loss of the peninsula and its transfer under Russian jurisdiction.

Well, at least the money is safe. Could take away with the new school - the hand would not flinch. Such a person.

UPD

Another find: a colleague suggests that the Americans also wanted to repair the Republican Children's Hospital in Simferopol at their own expense - the tender was announced on December 12. Lovely people, right?

On the other hand, the children of naval officers should not be taken home every time. For the sake of justice, let’s say that Crimean guys could get something wrong from such innovations.

The real problem for the US State Department is not the aging and decrepit army, but ... Crimea. It was with the return of Crimea to Russia that the United States and its vassals in Europe had real problems. The essence of the real problems for the USA is as follows.

a) the return of Crimea "broke off" the US plans for a presence in the Black Sea. It should be noted that the bloody revolution planned by the USA in Ukraine had several goals at once, one of which was the expulsion of the Russian Black Sea fleet from Sevastopol and from the Black Sea in principle.

B) In Crimea, according to recent information, about 30 of the latest Su-30 fighters were deployed, which will reliably cover the sky from any unauthorized intrusions.

C) Having taken the lead, the Russian leadership decided not only to restore its influence on the Black Sea region, but also to turn Crimea into a nuclear outpost. Starting from the end of 2015, the Ministry of Defense plans to begin the restoration of old and construction of new facilities to accommodate the Nuclear Deterrence Force. The basis of these forces will be the Topol-M ICBMs and the Yars RS-24, which will be plugged into the belt of any rabid politician who wants to fight.

D) In 2016, on an ongoing basis, it is planned to deploy in the Crimea a unit of tactical Tu-22M3 bombers, also capable of carrying nuclear weapons on board.

The facts set forth and known to US intelligence indicate one thing: Crimea, in the eyes of the Americans, is the large spearhead that is in the hands of a Russian bear.

What about them?

Speaking about what the United States can oppose Russia in terms of deploying nuclear weapons and means, to intercept them, there is no need to talk about serious things yet. The vaunted American missile defense system clearly does not live up to expectations. Missile defense facilities in the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania - will not save the territory of Europe and the United States themselves from a nuclear strike from Russia.

Why? Yes, because if the missile defense system were operational, the US rhetoric would change from negative to openly dominant at the same time.

All that can be said with absolute probability is that the US ... will pinpoint the start of nuclear missiles. On this, perhaps, the power of the American missile defense ends. The vaunted SM-2 / SM-3 interceptor missiles deployed on the Arly-Burk destroyers will not reach the Russian missiles and then it will be too late to drink Borjomi.

Technical component

Regarding the means of intercepting and covering the Nuclear Deterrence Forces, Russia has a whole mass of means of objective and technical control.

Speaking about the deployed facilities near the EU borders, it is worth mentioning the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile systems, the missiles of which fly to American bases in Europe in a matter of minutes, during which the base’s personnel will not even have time to brush their teeth and drink coffee. At the sight of the Iskanders are those very elements and missile defense facilities that in the event of a military conflict will have to be crushed in the first place.

With Crimea, the situation is much more interesting. The Ministry of Defense keeps silent about the statements regarding the weapons deployed in Crimea, which is understandable in general. However, a number of Russian and foreign analysts say that in the Crimea, the Russian leadership will definitely place nuclear weapons. And in the shortest possible time.

As you know, the nuclear facilities of the Strategic Missile Forces of the Russian Federation are covered by a well-fortified, masked layered air defense system. However, air defense in the face of the S-300 / S-400 complexes and the impending S-500 is not all that the Russian Ministry of Defense can boast of.

Americans have always loved to come to places where they are not expected. This fact became especially clear during the anti-constitutional coup in Ukraine, when the destroyer URO “Trakston” of the US Navy turned out to be in the Black Sea.

However, if the purpose of the visit of the American sailors was to demonstrate the flag, then in the case of the second, less successful visit of the destroyer Donald Cook, the essence was frank provocation. However, for the American sailors, a lucky chance fell again. If they go beyond the boundaries of what is permissible, another line of defense could work on them: the Bal coastal missile system.

Analyzing all the facts, arguments and incidents, we can safely conclude that the “militarization” of Crimea and the deployment of nuclear weapons there is the main guarantee of a normal perception of reality by the West. Putin’s Crimean “gambit” is gradually starting to achieve its goal.
