How to get rid of ants in the area

Ants scurrying around the garden cause a lot of anxiety to the owners of the site. They feast on ripe fruits without demand, carry weed seeds around the site and transfer voracious aphids from one plant to another. There are many tools and methods that will help you effectively survive ants from your acres.

Restrict ants access to food source. Nests of anthills are located near the places of accumulation of aphids on plants. It is known that ants regale themselves with aphid secretions. To break the constant campaigns of ants, you need to get rid of aphids. To do this, attach “skirts” from cut plastic bottles to the trees, mechanically remove the leaves of the plant infected with aphids, rub the tree trunk with grated garlic and treat the damaged areas with a solution of 2 cups of water and 2 tsp. liquid soap. The method of flooding the anthill enjoys great success. With the first night frosts, when the ants are no longer so active, carefully remove the top layer of the anthill with a shovel and supply pressurized water to the nest. In summer, fill the anthill with water with sugar, molasses or jam. This will provoke the active growth of soil yeast, which will destroy the stocks of ants for the winter.

The layout of foul-smelling sources for ants will help to push insects out of the area - cut arrows of garlic, the remains of coffee grounds, sunflower oil, tomato tops, brooms doused with sweet molasses, cinnamon, elderberry leaves, mint, tansy.

In the fight against ants, use meat baits. 2 tbsp mix well with minced meat with 0.5 tsp. crushed borax or boric acid. Divide the poisonous mixture into many balls and spread along the ant paths. The whole family will enjoy the deadly bait. When laying out the mass, take measures to ensure the safety of children and pets.

Apply insecticides. They are sold in the form of powders, pastes and gels. When diluting poisonous powder, strictly follow the instructions. Prepare dry bait. Sprinkle a mixture of equal volumes of sugar and boric acid in areas with large concentrations of ants.

A used car tire will help protect the trees. Divide it into 2 parts and place the rings in the dug holes under the trees. Fill the rings with water. Not a single ant can cross the water barrier. The water will attract birds to the watering hole. In such a simple way, you can still attract a feathered patrol to protect the site from the invasion of pests.

Together with chemical control agents, use electric ultrasonic insect repellers. Modern electronic devices do not allow ants to adapt to the constantly oppressive sensations and force them to leave the site.

One-time frightening actions against ants, as a rule, are ineffectual. The systematic and complex application of a number of methods at the same time will help to expel insects from the site.
