There have always been wars. No matter how humanity develops, sin lives inside a person. And rulers and kings will always want to prove their superiority to others, expand their territory, and leave their name in history. Pride and vanity live in the heart that is not under the dominion of God.

That is why there have been wars since the creation of the world. The 20th century is officially recognized as the bloodiest century in the entire history of mankind., and this despite the fact that in this century the pinnacle of scientific, technological and philosophical achievements has been reached.

And before the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, He Himself said that there would be wars and rumors of war.

2. Prayer during war! We must pray with the authority that is given to the church!

The Church has been given power on earth. Because The Church is the Body of the Lord Jesus Christ(Ephesians 1:23), then she is filled with His authority and power. After all, Jesus rose again and defeated death, the devil and all evil on earth.

And this power manifests itself in the spiritual and physical world. It is no secret that there is a physical world that we see, but there is a spiritual world that we do not see with our own eyes.

The Church is all children of God, those who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord. These are not domes, temples or buildings. Because God lives in the hearts of men, not in man-made buildings (Acts of the Apostles 17:24)

John 1:12 And to those who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the power to become children of God,

Being a child of God is a position of power:

Matthew 18:18 Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven; and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.

Look closely at this scripture. Only what will be allowed by the church will happen on earth. And nothing will happen that the Church, exercising the authority of Jesus Christ on earth, will not allow.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer opposed the entire system of Nazi Germany

This is why the church in Germany lost when it accepted Adolf Hitler and his plans for world domination. There were only a few priests (Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Martin Niemöller, Wilhelm Busch for example, who founded the Confessing Church) who opposed. For this, many of them were executed.

In the life of every Christian, moments arise when he must remember that he is not just a believer, but a part of the Orthodox Church - the Body of Christ. And the fate of the Church and the country depends on each of us.

The centuries-old history of our land has many tragic pages... And in the most difficult times, people united in joint prayer to God and the Most Holy Theotokos, asking for help. And we know how many times, when all hope for salvation seemed to have died, the Mother of God protected our cities and villages from death.

The power of prayer of our compatriots has saved both our Church and our land many times. Now such prayer is needed from us... Therefore, with Our blessing, the dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will hold an All-Ukrainian religious procession with prayer for Ukraine, which will begin on July 9 in the West of Ukraine - from the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra, and on July 3 in the East of Ukraine - from the Holy -Assumption Svyatogorsk Lavra. And we must, having cast aside anger, hatred, malice, and armed with love and forgiveness, strengthen our feat of prayer: so that maternal tears stop pouring, so that children do not remain orphans, women become widows, so that young people do not become disabled, so that our cities and villages do not become were destroyed and houses abandoned. Prayers to the heavenly patrons of warriors

Lord Almighty, Holy King!

Look from heaven and see how peoples are at enmity and plotting vain and evil things against each other, how everyone shudders from the memory of the former horrors of the war and trembles from the anticipation of new, even more terrible ones.

Oh, Most Merciful! Have mercy on Your creatures. Forgive our sins and iniquities, for the sake of many sorrows, misfortunes and fear that have come upon us. With the grace of the Most Holy Spirit, water the love-dried hearts of men, overgrown with thorns of self-love, hatred and envy, malice, enmity and deceit and other iniquities, so that they may increase the love burning for You and your brothers, and through it may all strife, contention, divisions, civil strife and wars, and all nations do not speak about peace with one mouth, but having loved it with all their hearts, they will unfeignedly forge their swords and spears into instruments of peaceful work and turn to peaceful labor only.

Humane and Merciful! We earnestly pray to You: grant peace to Your world, Your Churches, Orthodox people and all Your creations. For You are the King of the world and Your peace knows no bounds, and to You may glory and thanksgiving and worship be sent from all, now and ever, and to the end of the century. Amen.

The Bible on War: Prayer During, Against, and to End War.

Many older people in my childhood They often said “If only it wasn’t war”. My grandfather remembered her, how the Germans came to our city, what they did. I began to understand the truth of their words only when the war actually came to Ukraine. And although the Ukrainian government calls it ATO, the neighboring state does not recognize the presence of its troops in Ukraine at all. This is a real war. Mean, dishonest. Although what can be honestly looked for in a war where civilians die.

War always brings a lot of pain and suffering

I'll be honest - when I realized the complexity of the situation, I became depressed. But only at the beginning.

Jesus was not afraid of war. He told me how to act

1. Jesus warned about war. The Bible is about war.

Before leaving the Earth, the Lord Jesus warned that there would be wars and rumors of war. But He also commanded how to act.

Matt.24:6 You will also hear about wars and about war rumors. See, do not be horrified, for all this must happen, but this is not the end yet

There have always been wars. No matter how humanity develops, sin lives inside a person. And rulers and kings will always want to prove their superiority to others, expand their territory, and leave their name in history. Pride and vanity live in the heart that is not under the dominion of God.

That is why there have been wars since the creation of the world. The twentieth century is officially recognized as the bloodiest century in the entire history of mankind, and this despite the fact that in this century the pinnacle of scientific, technological and philosophical achievements was reached.

And before the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, He Himself said that there would be wars and rumors of war.

2. Prayer during war! We must pray with the authority that is given to the church!

The Church has been given power on earth. Because The Church is the Body of the Lord Jesus Christ(Ephesians 1:23), then she is filled with His authority and power. After all, Jesus rose again and defeated death, the devil and all evil on earth.

And this power manifests itself in the spiritual and physical world. It is no secret that there is a physical world that we see, but there is a spiritual world that we do not see with our own eyes.

The Church is all children of God, those who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord. These are not domes, temples or buildings. Because God lives in the hearts of men, not in man-made buildings (Acts of the Apostles 17:24)

John 1:12 And to those who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the power to become children of God,

Being a child of God is a position of power:

Matthew 18:18 Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven; and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.

Look closely at this scripture. Only what will be allowed by the church will happen on earth. And nothing will happen that the Church, exercising the authority of Jesus Christ on earth, will not allow.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer opposed the entire system of Nazi Germany

This is why the church in Germany lost when it accepted Adolf Hitler and his plans for world domination. There were only a few priests (Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Martin Niemöller, Wilhelm Busch for example, who founded the Confessing Church) who opposed. For this, many of them were executed.

Here's what Bonhoeffer said:

I must live through this difficult period of our national history together with Christians in Germany. I will not have the right to participate in the revival of Christian life after the war, if I do not share with my people the trials of this time.

God will ask the specific church of each country.

• From the Church of Ukraine - for the situation in Ukraine.
• From the church in Russia - for the situation in Russia.
• From the Church of Germany - for the situation in Germany.

You need to pray and bind the evil that happens, and resolve the good that pleases God. This pleases God according to Matthew 18:18.

Ministry of the Prophet Jeremiah

At the very beginning of the ministry of the prophet Jeremiah, God told him:

Jeremiah 1:10 See, I have set you this day over nations and kingdoms, to uproot and destroy, to destroy and destroy, to build and to plant.

• How to eradicate and ruin, destroy and destroy?

In a word in prayer! What the Church says, what every son and daughter of God proclaims, that’s what will happen!

3. Create justice and truth

You need to not only pray, but also act.

Start acting from now on

1 John 3:18 My children! Let us begin to love not in word or tongue, but in deed and truth.

God wants us to show love not only with words, but with concrete deeds.

Eze 45:9 “Thus says the Lord GOD: It is enough for you, O princes of Israel! put aside insults and oppression and do justice and righteousness.”

At that time, Israel was enslaved by Babylon. At this time, he was not only attacked, but most of the Jews were in Babylonian captivity. And yet the Lord says to do righteousness and justice. Regardless of any actions of the country that fought against Israel.

God is very pleased when we act and do righteousness and justice. A lot depends on us, in fact. If in our workplace, in our city and surroundings we do not agree with evil, but do good, this pleases God!

To create justice is to call evil evil, and to suppress any evil

To do the truth is to do what is good before God.

Please note that doing justice and doing justice always go hand in hand. It is when we stop evil and do good that this is what pleases God. Not one-sided, without edges and extremes. Otherwise, you can hack with a saber, doing only justice, or be an unctuous little man who kisses everyone and does good deeds.

God's Word clearly says that in times of war we must pray and act

4. Remember what the Lord said to the Church for all times.

You need to remind yourself of fundamental things all the time

• The Lord is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

And all the kings, all the presidents - they all received their power from God. Their time is limited, and during their period of power they will give an account to God. But you and I will also give an account to God.

At the same time, when we personally have a difficult time, “the valley of the shadow of death” in biblical language, the Lord comforts us. We have already written about this here.

• The enemy is not people, but the evil spirit that works through them.

Eph 6:12: “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in high places.”

• You cannot pray when you are offended (read more about defeating offense here).

Always forgive and let go of all anger

Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive people their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive people their trespasses, then your Father will not forgive you your trespasses.

And keep on praying

• The Lord Jesus has been given all authority in heaven and on earth

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”

• What we say has enormous weight. In fact, our words materialize over time. After all our words are our faith.

How often do we forget how it all ends. But the whole book of Revelation is about this.

Rev. 19:20 And the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet, who performed miracles before him, with which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image: both were thrown alive into the lake of fire, burning with brimstone;

The devil has already been defeated. All the evil that is now happening on earth will end! Victory is God's!

Conclusion. The Bible speaks clearly and clearly about war.

War is part of Satan's world domination on earth. His goal is to destroy every person.

But with the power and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, we, the Church of Christ, the children of God, are not only conquerors. But we are the ones who influence the development of history.

EUR10:35 So do not abandon your hope, for which there is a great reward.

If we do not abandon our trust in God, if we say what the Lord says in His Word, this trust will receive a great reward!

And may the Lord help you to be strengthened and rooted in His Word so much that in any situation only the strong and anointed Word of God comes out of your mouth!
